Pleasurecraft Marine Engines
Every Nautique is powered by PCM, or by Yanmar diesel where you want the torque. These are not car engines with a coat of paint on them. They are built for full ballast, long days and salt water.
The line-up
What goes in your boat depends on the hull and on how you ride. Here is the whole range, and we will tell you honestly which one you actually need.
PetrolThe most powerful engine Nautique fits. Supercharged, direct-injected and built on the strongest base block General Motors produces, and it still runs happily on 95 octane.
PetrolSupercharged big power with the everyday manners of a standard engine. Loads of low-down torque for a full ballast tank and a boat full of people.
PetrolThe engine most Nautiques leave the floor with. Direct injection gives it strong pull off idle and real fuel economy across a full day on the water.
PetrolThe efficient one. A 5.3 litre with direct injection that gives up very little to the bigger blocks on a smaller hull, and drinks noticeably less doing it.
DieselTurbocharged diesel torque. It holds low revs with the boat fully loaded, which is exactly what you want behind a big surf wave, and it sips fuel next to a petrol engine.
Hyperformance
PCM put direct injection and 100% closed cooling into inboard tow boats before anyone else did. This is what that adds up to.
Raw water never enters the engine block. It matters everywhere and it matters twice as much here, because a lot of our boats spend their weekends in salt.
Fuel goes straight into the cylinder rather than the intake. A smaller engine then makes the same power as a bigger one, or more, while burning less fuel doing it.
Smooth and quiet, with class-leading gear reduction so the boat gets out of the hole quickly even with a full load of ballast and passengers.
PCM's patented Catanium exhaust, now tuned for peak engine performance while cutting emissions and carbon monoxide at the platform where people actually sit.
Premium materials and consistent coolant flow at every rev range, which is the unglamorous part of why these engines last as long as they do.
A dual pump system for consistent fuel delivery, with a 10 micron filter and water separator built in rather than bolted on somewhere down the line.
Micro-adjustable engine mounts with triple isolation. Alignment stays where it was set, and far less vibration reaches the hull and the people in it.
Warranty
PCM back every engine for five years or a thousand hours, and the cover transfers with the boat when you sell it, with no limit on how many times. Ours are serviced in our own workshops by factory-trained technicians, so a warranty claim is a conversation with us, not a phone queue.
